The Mountain Dulcimer is a truly American folk instrument, and is as much at home here in the Heldebergs as in the southern Appalachians of its origin. Its range of sound, from bubblingly happy to hauntingly beautiful, can be produced quickly and easily by the most inexperienced player, yet can of- fer a lifetime of pleasure as its depths are explored. Build a dulcimer from a kit, decorate it to make it uniquely yours and then begin your dulcimer journey. Like our instructor, you may find yourself charmed by its magic from the very first time you hold it in your lap and strum.
