OUTDOOR EDUCATION INTERN INFORMATION (OEI)
The Heldeberg Workshop is looking for young people who are age 15 and older to assist our teachers with class activities and arrival/pickup of students.
Interns would receive a weekly stipend of $130 or community service credit for high school. Our summer 2021 program will run from July 12 to August 20. The hours would be 8:30 to 12:20.
We are asking our interns to work at least 2 weeks or more-need not be consecutive weeks. Interns assist teachers in outdoor classes concerning art, theater, science, and high adventures. You would be placed in classes with students younger than you.
We will be following DOH COVID-19 procedures such as wearing masks, social distancing, reduced number of classes/students, and hand washing. Interns, staff, and students must all wear long pants, socks, and closed-toed sneakers or boots.
There will be no bus transportation for staff or students.
If accepted, we will send you a contract to return to us. You must agree to attend an orientation session of 2-3 hours. It will be divided between a Zoom meeting and time on the land. You will choose one Zoom meeting and one land meeting. There will be two choices for a Zoom meeting to be scheduled June 14 and June 17 (7:00-9:00 pm). The on-land meeting choices would be June 26 and July 10 9:30-10:30 am. You would receive a $15 stipend for attending one zoom and one land meeting.
