OUTDOOR EDUCATION INTERN INFORMATION
SUMMER 2026
The Heldeberg Workshop is looking for young people who are age 15 and older to assist our teachers during the summer program. There are a limited number of Outdoor Education Intern (OEI) positions who receive a $165 weekly stipend or OEI positions for high school students who want community service credit or volunteer experience. Interns assist teachers in outdoor classes concerning art, music, theater, science, and high adventure. The 2026 program runs from July 6 to August 14 and interns work from 8:30 am to 12:15pm. You may apply for the entire summer or at least 2 individual weeks (does not need to be consecutive weeks).
Please submit the application by May 31, 2026 at the latest (please note that positions may fill prior to this date) by email (interns@heldebergworkshop.org) or postal service (Mackenzie Johnson, 30 Crystal Lane, Delmar, NY, 12054). Do not send to Workshop postal address.
If accepted, we will send you an agreement to return to us. You will also need to submit a record of immunizations. You must agree to attend one orientation session (2-3 hours) on Saturday, June 20th, or Saturday, June 27th from 9:30 to 12:00. You will receive a $15 stipend for attending the orientation sessions.
