HELDEBERG WORKSHOP
OUTDOOR EDUCATION INTERN INFORMATION (OEI)
SUMMER 2025
The Heldeberg Workshop is looking for young people who are age 15 and older to assist our teachers during the summer program. There are a limited number of Outdoor Education Intern (OEI) positions who receive a $155 weekly stipend or OEI positions for high school students who want community service credit or volunteer experience. Interns assist teachers in outdoor classes concerning art, music, theater, science, and high adventure. The 2025 program runs from July 7 to August 15 and interns work from 8:30 am to 12:15pm. You may apply for the entire summer or at least 2 individual weeks (does not need to be consecutive weeks). This year we will have 2 buses each week. There will be limited spots on bus transportation for interns this year. You must pay for bus.
Please submit the application by May 31, 2025 at the latest (please note that positions may fill prior to this date) by email (to interns@heldebergworkshop.org) or postal service (to Kris Barber, 45 Carson Road, Delmar, NY 12054). Do not send to Workshop postal address. If accepted, we will send you a contract to return to us. You will also need to submit a record of immunizations. You must agree to attend one orientation session (2-3 hours) on Saturday June 21 or July 5 from 9:30 to 12:00. You will receive a $15 stipend for attending the orientation sessions.
